Ingredients
- 3 cans beets, drained (save juice)
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 level Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 3 Tbsp. catsup
- 3 Tbsp. cooking oil
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. beet juice
Method
- Mix
- sugar
- and cornstarch together well.
- Add vinegar, cloves,
- catsup,
- oil, salt, vanilla and beet juice.
- Mix well and cook until thick.
- Add beets and heat thoroughly.
