Ingredients

  • 1 1/8 pounds minced meat beef and pork
  • fine salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon garlic crushed dried
  • ground pepper to taste
  • 2 onions medium-sized, thinly sliced
  • olive oil to taste
  • 4 slices cheese
  • 4 slices ham
  • 1 handful arugula
  • 1 carrot widely grated
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • ketchup
  • mayonnaise

Method

  • Season the meat with salt, thyme, dried garlic, pepper and mix well.
  • Shape it like a burger patty (the size of a large frying pan, because the meat shrinks slightly when cooked). In a large frying pan with a little olive oil, braise the onions until very tender.
  • Remove and set aside. In the same pan, and without greasing any further, fry the burger patty on both sides.
  • Cut a bun in half and sprinkle both halves with the grease made from cooking the meat. Place the onion, burger patty, cheese, ham, arugula, carrot, tomato, mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the bottom bun, cover with the top bun and enjoy.
