Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef or turkey
- 1 c. chopped onions
- 1 c. sliced carrots
- 1 c. sliced celery
- 3 c. beef broth
- 3 c. water
- 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes, undrained and cut up
- 1/2 c. Homemade Seasoned Rice Mix
- 1/4 c. ketchup
- 1 to 2 tsp. dried basil leaves
- 1 bay leaf
Method
- In 4-quart saucepan or Dutch oven, brown ground beef with onions, carrots and celery.
- Drain well.
- Add remaining ingredients; stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat. Cover and simmer 25 to 35 minutes or until vegetables and rice are tender.
- Remove bay leaf.
