Ingredients

  • 2 sticks margarine, softened
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla

Method

  • Cream margarine, shortening and sugar until fluffy.
  • Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa together.
  • Add eggs, one at a time to creamed mixture.
  • Add dry ingredients alternating with milk and vanilla.
  • Beat 3 minutes at medium speed.
  • Pour in tube pan that has been greased and floured.
  • Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until done when tested.
