Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1 small sweet pepper, chopped
  • 2 c. tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp. each: oregano and marjoram
  • 1 c. cornmeal mixture
  • 8 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 can kidney beans

Method

  • Brown beef and onion.
  • Add celery, pepper, tomatoes, sauce, salt and herbs.
  • Add beans last.
  • Simmer for 20 minutes and pour into oblong baking pan.
  • Drizzle thin cornmeal mixture over top and bake at 425° for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • A salad is all you need to add for a complete meal.
