Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 12 teaspoon chili powder
- 12 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika (hot, not sweet)
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 dried bay leaf, crumbled
- 2 lbs shrimp, with tails on shelled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Method
- Melt butter in large heavy skillet and add garlic and spices (except for lemon juice).
- Cook on medium heat for 2 minutes then immediately take off the heat and let rest for 20 minutes or so.
- Reheat butter mixture and saute shrimp, flipping around with a spatula, for 4-5 minutes or until shrimp just turns white.
- Drizzle lemon juice on top and place on bed of rice.
- Pour excess butter/spice mixture over all.
