Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. (10 oz. each) frozen French-style green beans
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 can water chestnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. tarragon or basil, crumbled
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (3 oz.) can French fried onions

Method

  • Cook beans according to package instructions; drain well.
  • In a large bowl, combine mushroom soup, milk, water chestnuts, tarragon or basil and salt and pepper.
  • Mix well and stir in beans.
  • Place in a buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole dish and sprinkle with onions.
  • Bake at 350° for about 20 minutes, or until bubbly and onions are crispy.
  • Makes 6 servings.
