Ingredients

  • 2 pound fresh green beans
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1 pound cubed beef or possibly lamb
  • 1/2 c. green pepper, minced
  • 3 to 4 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced
  • 1 c. grnd tomatoes
  • 1/2 c. c. water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grnd black pepper

Method

  • String the beans, wash and cut into 1 inch pcs.
  • In a large, heavy pot heat the oil and brown the meat.
  • Add in beans, green pepper and garlic.
  • Cover and stir occasionally for 10 to 15 min.
  • Add in tomatoes and water, salt and pepper.
  • Simmer for 40 to 45 min or possibly till meat and beans are tender.
  • Add in seasoning toward the end of cooking time.
  • Serve with Rice Pilaf.
  • Serves 6.
