Ingredients

  • 2 large onions
  • 3 lb. lean ground beef
  • oil (to brown onions and beef)
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans red kidney beans
  • 2 heaping Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. dark brown sugar

Method

  • Brown onions and then ground beef in the oil. Add flour and mix well. Mash 1/2 cans of kidney beans (in electric mixer) while browning onions and beef. Add tomatoes, all of kidney beans and seasonings. Simmer 1 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Cook in large pot. Freezes well.
