Ingredients
- 2 c. milk
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. self-rising flour
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 baked pie crust
Method
- Heat
- milk
- in double boiler. Add sugar, flour, cocoa and salt
- (well
- blended),
- stirring
- until thick and smooth, about 20 minutes.
- Beat egg yolks and pour a small amount of hot mixture
- into
- the eggs
- and
- stir.
- Then pour back into mixture in double boiler for 5 more minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add vanilla and pour into baked pie shell.
- Top with meringue and brown.
