Ingredients

  • 1 soup bone
  • 1 lb. boneless soup meat
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 medium potatoes
  • some type of pasta (macaroni, spaghetti or noodles)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • In a large stew pan, place the bone and meat with about 3 quarts of water.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Simmer this for about 20 minutes, then place the tomatoes and sliced onion with the meat and water.
  • Cook this for about 1 1/2 hours at a medium boil.
  • Then add the frozen vegetables and potatoes (which have been diced coarsely).
  • About 20 minutes before you are ready to serve the soup, add the pasta.
