Ingredients
- 5 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 tsp. water
- 1/2 boiling water
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Separate the whites and yolks of 5 eggs.
- Add water to the yolks and beat.
- Add sugar slowly into the yolks and beat well. Add boiling water to the egg yolk mixture and beat well.
- Then add flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla.
- In separate bowl, beat egg whites and 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar.
- Then fold into the yolk mixture.
- Pour cake mixture into an angel food cake pan (separates into two parts).
- Put into a cold oven set at 300°. Bake 1 hour.
