Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Red Star fast rise yeast
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 1 c. mashed potatoes
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 7 c. plain flour

Method

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • Add mashed potatoes, shortening, sugar and salt.
  • Cover and let stand in warm place until bubbly.
  • Work in flour.
  • Knead several minutes.
  • Put in bowl and cover.
  • Put in refrigerator.
  • Take out and shape rolls 1 hour before baking at 400°.
