Ingredients
- 3 lb. 15% or 22% fat ground beef
- 3 very large onions
- 3 large cloves garlic
- potatoes (as many as wanted)
Method
- Form the meat into extra large meatballs (about 6-inch). Brown well in heavy skillet.
- Remove from pan.
- Add cold water to the pan and scrape all the brown bits from the bottom of the pan while still very hot.
- Turn heat to low and add as much water as needed for gravy to cover all meat, potatoes and onions.
- Make your gravy with flour, salt, pepper and crushed gravy to taste.
- Put meatballs back in skillet, cover with thinly sliced onions and peeled potatoes (cut in half).
- cover completely with gravy. Cover and simmer 2 or 3 hours.
- The longer, the better.
