Ingredients

  • 4 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs

Method

  • In a large bowl combine 1
  • 1/2 cups of flour and yeast. Heat milk, sugar, butter
  • and
  • salt
  • until
  • butter
  • is
  • almost melted, stirring
  • constantly.
  • Add
  • milk
  • mixture to
  • flour mixture; add eggs.
  • Beat with
  • electric
  • mixer
  • on low for 30 seconds. Beat on high for
  • minutes
  • (dough
  • will be soft). Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface.
  • Knead in remaining flour. Shape dough into
  • ball. Place dough in lightly greased bowl; turn once. Cover
  • with
  • warm,
  • damp
  • towel; let rise in a warm place until double (about 1 1/2 hours).
