Ingredients
- 3/4 c. melted margarine
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- pinch of salt
- 2 tsp. almond extract
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. slivered almonds
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Line an 8 or 9-inch round cake pan with aluminum foil.
- Combine melted margarine and sugar in large mixing bowl.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Add pinch of salt, almond extract and vanilla.
- Stir in flour until ingredients are well blended.
- Pour batter into the foil-lined pan.
- Sprinkle the remaining sugar and almonds over top of batter.
- Bake 35 to 40 minutes until cake is golden brown.
