Ingredients
- 5 eggs, separated
- 1/2 c. cold water
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Method
- Beat yolks good; add water and beat again.
- Gradually add sugar, then vanilla.
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt 4 times and gradually add to mixture.
- Beat egg whites stiff with cream of tartar and fold into mixture.
- Bake in ungreased tube pan for 300° for 1 hour.
