Ingredients
- 6 large pears, peeled and chopped
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
Method
- Cook all ingredients in a heavy 3-quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring often, 5 to 7 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to medium-high, and cook, stirring occasionally, 40 minutes or until thickened and golden. Cool. Store in airtight containers in the refrigerator up to 1 month.
