Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread
  • 1/2 doz. eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 lb. bulk sausage
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Method

  • Remove crust from bread and spread with margarine.
  • Place buttered side down in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch casserole dish.
  • Mix eggs, milk, salt and dry mustard.
  • Fry sausage, drain and crumble. Sprinkle sausage over bread, then add egg and milk mixture. Top with cheese. Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours, better if it sits overnight.
  • Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Good for breakfast or brunch.
