Ingredients

  • 1 c. mayonnaise
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
  • 1 (8 oz.) can whole water chestnuts
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped crystallized ginger
  • dash of hot sauce
  • 1/4 c. grated onion
  • 1/4 c. fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce

Method

  • Drain and chop chestnuts.
  • Finely chop parsley and chop crystallized ginger.
  • Combine all ingredients; cover and chill for at least 8 hours.
  • To reduce fat and cholesterol, fat-free mayonnaise and nonfat sour cream alternatives may be substituted. Serve as a dip with fresh vegetables.
  • Yields 3 cups.
