Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Method

  • Preheat oven 350, bowl combine flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves: set aside
  • Large mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar, egg, molasses.
  • stir in flour with wooden spoon
  • Shape dough into 1 1/2 balls.
  • Roll balls in the 2 Tbsp Sugar.
  • Place about 2 1/2 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 10 mins or until lightly browned but still puffed.
  • Do Not Overbake.
  • Let stand on cookie sheet for 2 mins.
  • Transfer to wire rack: cool Makes 24
