Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter/oleo
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa powder
- 2 c. water
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
Method
- Mix in saucepan, butter, cocoa and water.
- Bring to boil and stir into flour and sugar mixture.
- Beat eggs.
- Add soda to buttermilk.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla and salt to warm mixture.
- Batter will be thin.
- Bake in a 13 x 9-inch pan at 400° for about 20 minutes.
- Pour Geri's Chocolate Cake Frosting over hot cake.
