Ingredients
- 2/3 c. cocoa
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Combine dry ingredients in a heavy saucepan.
- Stir in milk; bring to a boil (bubbly), boiling over medium heat, stirring, until soft ball stage or reaches 230°.
- Remove from fire and add butter and vanilla.
- Do not stir.
- Cool at room temperature or 110°.
- Beat until thickens and loses gloss.
- Spread in lightly buttered pan.
- Let cool.
- Cut and serve.
