Ingredients
- 1 c. diced, dried apricots
- 3/4 c. diced, pitted prunes
- 1 1/2 qt. water
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1 orange, thinly sliced with peel
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced with peel
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. quick-cooking tapioca
- 2 tart red apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 c. seedless raisins
- 1/4 c. dried currants
Method
- Put the first 3 ingredients in a saucepan; let stand for 10 minutes.
- Add cinnamon, orange, lemon, sugar and tapioca; bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the remaining ingredients and cook until the apples are tender (about 5 minutes).
- Take out the cinnamon stick.
- Chill.
- Serve cold.
