Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, margarine or buttery Crisco
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • food colors (yellow, green and red)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. lemon peel, grated
  • 1 1/2 tsp. orange peel, grated
  • 1 1/2 tsp. lime peel, grated
  • sugar, colored yellow, orange and green

Method

  • Mix thoroughly butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  • Blend in flour and salt.
  • Divide dough into 4 equal parts.
  • To one part, work in
  • few drops yellow food color and the lemon peel.
  • To another part, work in green food color and lime peel.
  • To another, work in orange food color and orange peel.
  • Leave remaining part plain.
  • Cover and chill 1 hour.
