Ingredients
- 1 c. flour
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp. butter, melted
- fresh or canned fruit, sweetened
Method
- Sift dry ingredients; add milk, egg and fat.
- Mix lightly. Arrange fruit in bottom of baking dish.
- Spread with butter.
- Bake in moderately hot oven (400°) until brown.
- Serve with vanilla, lemon or fruit sauce or cream.
