Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 pt. (2 c.) sour cream

Method

  • Mix thoroughly all dry ingredients.
  • Cut in shortening as if making a pie crust.
  • Add sour cream.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Roll out dough; cut into biscuits.
  • Place on a cookie sheet and freeze. Place frozen biscuits in bag and use as needed.
  • When ready to bake, butter both top and bottom of biscuits.
  • Bake in a 450° oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • (The biscuits do not need to be thawed before baking.)
