Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 cup milk
- Salt, pepper, and nutmeg
Method
- Melt the butter in a heavy saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the onion and flour, and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Warm the milk in another pot (to avoid lumps later).
- Stir the corn into the onion mixture and then add the milk.
- Warm the mixture thoroughly, but do not boil.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Serve with a tiny sprinkling of nutmeg.
