Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion or 2 small onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 (10.5 oz.) can beef consomme
  • 1/2 soup can water
  • 2 slices French bread
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 6 Tbsp. grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (15 oz.) can navy beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15 oz.) can red beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15 oz.) can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced (1 c.)
  • 1/2 c. thinly sliced green onion
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 1/4 c. molasses
  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Dijon-style mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • lettuce leaves
  • 2 c. torn curly endive
  • 2 slices bacon, crisp-cooked, drained and crumbled
  • green onion strips (optional)

Method

  • In a large bowl, combine beans, celery and green onion.
