Ingredients
- medium head cabbage
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. celery seed
- 1/2 c. peanut oil
- 1/2 c. vinegar
Method
- Shred cabbage and onion; cover with the 1/2 cup sugar.
- Bring to a boil the 1 teaspoon sugar, salt, mustard, celery seed, peanut oil and vinegar.
- Cool slightly and pour over shredded cabbage and onion.
- Let stand at least 4 hours before serving.
- Good for 4 to 5 days.
