Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1/2 stalk carrot
  • 2 sprigs sweet basil
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 4 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 24 oz. tomato sauce (takes 3 small cans)
  • 8 oz. tomato paste (takes 1 small can)
  • 4 tsp. Wyler's chicken flavor instant bouillon

Method

  • Chop onion, celery, basil and parsley into very fine pieces. Saute the veggies in 4 tablespoons oil until golden.
  • Add the ground beef, then add tomato sauce and paste.
  • Fill one tomato sauce can and the tomato paste can with water, then pour into pan. Add chicken bouillon to taste.
  • Stir often over a medium heat, adding some black pepper.
  • Sauce should be fairly thick, not runny. Is enough to cover 2 pounds of pasta.
