Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 3 egg whites
  • salt
  • 6 Tbsp. sugar

Method

  • Mix cornstarch, sugar and water and cook together until clear, then set aside.
  • Add a bit of salt to egg whites and whip until foamy or standing in peaks at which time you add the mixture of cornstarch, slowly.
  • Continue beating until creamy, then add sugar gradually beating again until creamy.
  • Pile on pie and seal all edges.
  • Bake 30 minutes at 325° or until golden brown.
  • Does not weep or get watery.
