Ingredients
- 1/3 c. hot water
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Combine hot water and sugar in saucepan.
- Bring to a boil. Cook rapidly to soft ball stage.
- Combine egg whites and cream of tartar.
- Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.
- Pour syrup slowly into egg whites, beating at high speed.
- Add vanilla. Continue beating until frosting reaches spreading consistency.
