Ingredients

  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 Tbsp. artificial sweetener
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Method

  • Add well-beaten yolks to hot milk; mix well.
  • Place
  • in top part
  • of double boiler.
  • Cook until liquid coats
  • spoon. Cool quickly and add salt and artificial sweetener.
  • Beat
  • egg whites until stiff.
  • Add 4 tablespoons of powdered
  • sugar, one at a time,
  • beating after each addition. Pour
  • custard
  • into dessert dishes.
  • Put
  • egg whites on top of each.
  • Garnish with your favorite jam, jelly or fruit.
