Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. bacon, diced
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 c. white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 (16 oz.) can baked beans
  • 1 (16 oz.) can limas, drained
  • 1 (16 oz.) can butter beans, drained
  • 1 (16 oz.) can chickpeas, drained
  • 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans, drained

Method

  • About 1 1/2 hours before serving, in a large skillet, over medium heat, fry bacon and onion until onion is tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in brown sugar, vinegar, celery salt, garlic salt, dry mustard and salt.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
