Ingredients

  • 1/2 envelope (1/4 c.) dry onion soup mix
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1/4 c. salad oil
  • 1 1/2 lb. beef chuck, cut in inch cubes

Method

  • In saucepan, combine ingredients (except meat) along with 1/2 cup of water; bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Cool.
  • Add meat; toss to coat.
  • Refrigerate overnight (or at least 6 hours).
  • Drain meat; reserve marinade.
  • Thread meat on skewers. Broil over medium coals 20 to 25 minutes, turning once and brushing with marinade 2 or 3 times.
  • Serves 4.
