Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
  • 4 c. confectioners sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 c. pecan pieces
  • pecan halves (optional)

Method

  • Microwave butter in 2-quart micro-proof bowl at High (100%) for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until melted.
  • Add cocoa.
  • Stir until smooth.
  • Stir in confectioners sugar and vanilla.
  • Blend well (mixture wil be dry and crumbly).
  • Stir in evaporated milk. Microwave at High (100%) for 1 minute; stir.
  • Microwave an additional 1 minute or until mixture is hot.
  • Stir mixture until smooth; add pecans.
  • Pour into aluminum foil-lined 8 or 9-inch square pan.
  • Garnish with pecan halves.
  • Cover; chill until firm, about 2 hours.
  • Cut into 1-inch squares.
  • Store covered in refrigerator.
