Ingredients
- 1 (10-inch) deep pie shell, unbaked, 2 (8-inch) deep pie shells or 3 shallow (8-inch) pie shells
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 Tbsp. cloves
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 2/3 c. butter or oleo
- 3 egg yolks
- 3 egg whites, well beaten
- 3 c. (scant) milk
Method
- Beat well sugar, cloves, cinnamon, flour and butter.
- Add egg yolks and beat.
- Blend in egg whites and milk.
- Pour into unbaked pie shell.
- It will be full!
- Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Test with silver table knife like for custard.
- Be careful and don't cut through the bottom of the pie.
