Ingredients

  • 1 (10-inch) deep pie shell, unbaked, 2 (8-inch) deep pie shells or 3 shallow (8-inch) pie shells
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp. cloves
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 2/3 c. butter or oleo
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 egg whites, well beaten
  • 3 c. (scant) milk

Method

  • Beat well sugar, cloves, cinnamon, flour and butter.
  • Add egg yolks and beat.
  • Blend in egg whites and milk.
  • Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  • It will be full!
  • Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Test with silver table knife like for custard.
  • Be careful and don't cut through the bottom of the pie.
