Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. white syrup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 egg whites
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Place sugar, syrup, water and salt in pan. Cook over medium heat until a little dropped in cold water will form a hard ball. Beat egg whites until stiff while syrup is cooking.
- Pour mix into egg whites, beating continuously.
- Add vanilla and beat until it loses its glossy look. Add pecans and pour onto buttered platter or drop by spoon on waxed paper. Garnish with pecan halves.
