Ingredients
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/3 c. lukewarm water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 2 c. lukewarm water or milk
- plain flour
Method
- Cream shortening and sugar; add salt, egg, warm water or milk and yeast mixture.
- Begin adding flour to make a stiff dough. Turn into a greased bowl and cover with cloth.
- When double in bulk, knead and roll out.
- Cut out and place on pans brushed with butter or margarine.
- Brush tops of rolls with butter.
- Let rise in a warm place.
- Bake in hot oven at 450° for 10 to 15 minutes.
