- 2T grapeseed oil
- 6 cloves garlic, smashed
- 1 T tomato paste
- 1 1/2 T chile powder
- 1 T paprika
- 1 T red pepper flakes
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- pinch ground cloves
- 2 C ketchup
- 2 C water
- 1/2 C apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 C molasses
- 1/4 C dark brown sugar
- 1 T kosher salt
- 1 T soy sauce
- 1 T worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 4-5 chopped datil peppers
Method
- heat oil in a med saucepan over med heat. STir in garlic, tomato paste, chile powder, paprika, red pepper, allspice and cloves and cook until past is dark brick red about 3 min.
- Add remaining ingredients. Adjust heat to maintain a gentle simmer and cook until flavors blend about 30 min
