- 1 1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 lb. candied cherries
- 6 slices candied pineapple, diced
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 6 c. pecan pieces
- 2 c. diced dates
Method
- Cream butter and sugar until light.
- Beat eggs.
- Add sifted dry ingredients and milk; mix well.
- Pour batter over nuts and fruit; mix thoroughly.
- Drop from teaspoon on cookie sheet.
- Bake at 325° for 20 to 25 minutes.
