Ingredients

  • 2 c. warm water
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 6 c. flour (all-purpose)

Method

  • Mix warm water, yeast and sugar together in large bowl.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes.
  • Add oil, egg and salt.
  • Stir well.
  • Slowly add flour, mixing well.
  • Dough will be sticky.
  • Cover bowl with plastic wrap and store in refrigerator until ready to roll out (at least 3 hours).
  • It will keep about 3 days if refrigerated.
  • Roll out on well floured board.
  • Work in flour to keep from being too sticky to handle.
  • Cut with biscuit cutter; dip cutter in flour. Place rolls on greased cookie sheet and let rise in warm place, about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Bake at 350° for about 12 minutes or until brown.
  • Makes about 2 1/2 dozen medium sized rolls.
