- 1 12 lbs lean ground beef
- 12 cup breadcrumbs
- 14 cup chopped parsley
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 18 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce with onion
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 12 cup pickle relish
Method
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- In a large bowl, combine beef, bread crumbs, parsley, egg, salt, pepper and 1/2 can of tomato sauce.
- Place half the meat mixture in a loaf pan.
- Cover with cheese and relish, then cover with the remaining meat mixture.
- Bake for 1 hour.
- Drain off accumulated fat.
- Turn loaf out into a shallow baking pan.
- Cover with remaining tomato sauce and bake 15 minutes longer.
