Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp. caraway seed
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 beaten egg

Method

  • Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Cream together margarine and sugar.
  • Add egg and sour cream. Combine liquid mixture and dry ingredients and mix by hand just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • Add raisins and caraway seed. Place in buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole.
  • Brush with melted butter.
  • Make a cross from diagonal corners.
  • Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes and at 325° for another 30 minutes.
