Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 qt. water
  • 1 head broccoli (1 1/2-inch stems and flowerets)
  • 3/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. Accent
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 8 oz. grated Velveeta
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. half and half
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. cold water

Method

  • Cook broccoli and onion in boiling water for 10 minutes.
  • Add salt, Accent, garlic and cheese.
  • Stir until cheese melts.
  • Add butter, milk and cream; heat to boiling.
  • Mix flour and water in jar.
  • Shake until smooth.
  • Add to soup, stirring until thickened.
