Ingredients
- 2 1/2-3 lbs round steak, cut in thin slices
- 1/2 cup onion, minced
- 3 T butter
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb sliced white or button mushrooms
- 2 cans undiluted cream of chicken soup
- 2 cups sour cream*
- Salt and Pepper
- Egg noodles
Method
- Saute onion in butter; add beef and garlic and saute until beef is browned.
- Add mushrooms and saute just until beginning to soften.
- Add cream of chicken soup, sour cream and salt and pepper to taste.
- Simmer GENTLY for 10 minutes. Do not boil - sour cream will curdle!
- While Stroganoff is simmering, cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and add a small amount of butter to keep noodles from sticking.
- Serve Stroganoff on top of egg noodles.
