Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. pecans, chopped
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix, prepared as directed
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 (3 oz.) can coconut
  • 1 box powdered sugar

Method

  • Use a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Sprinkle pecans in bottom of pan.
  • Sprinkle coconut over pecans.
  • Melt butter and cream cheese together.
  • Add powdered sugar; mix well.
  • Pour cake mix batter over coconut, then cream cheese mixture over cake batter.
  • Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
  • Remove from heat; cool.
  • Cut into squares and serve.
