Ingredients
- 2 2/3 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. corn syrup (white)
- 2/3 c. water
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Method
- Cook sugar, syrup, water and salt.
- Do not stir after sugar is dissolved.
- Cook until boiling syrup when dropped from spoon in cold water becomes very hard almost brittle ball.
- Pour slowly into beaten egg whites and beat until it holds its shape when dropped from a spoon.
- Add nuts just before dropping from spoon. Can also be poured into greased rectangular pan and cut into squares after it sets.
