Ingredients

  • 2 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. corn syrup (white)
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Cook sugar, syrup, water and salt.
  • Do not stir after sugar is dissolved.
  • Cook until boiling syrup when dropped from spoon in cold water becomes very hard almost brittle ball.
  • Pour slowly into beaten egg whites and beat until it holds its shape when dropped from a spoon.
  • Add nuts just before dropping from spoon. Can also be poured into greased rectangular pan and cut into squares after it sets.
