Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Karo syrup
- 1/2 c. hot water
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 egg whites
- nuts (optional)
- vanilla
Method
- Cook first four ingredients until hard ball stage (without stirring).
- Remove from heat.
- Beat egg whites immediately for about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Pour hot syrup over whites slowly and beat until glossy look becomes dull.
- Add vanilla.
- Drop on buttered pan or countertop by teaspoonfuls.
